Simply Neutrals Tuesday No. 34 - Birthday gift

When you receive such a beautiful gift as this in the mail
your heart not only skips a beat
but you also know that
the sender is
so in tune with your creative appetite
that they are totally on the same page as you
in every way!

This gift arrived in the mail
so thoughtfully wrapped and prepared
in little parcels!

You can't imagine the size of this tiny Madonna image
which was framed in layers of lace
pieces, a mother of pearl button and with the tiniest
matching envelope all of about 2 inches square!

A da Vinci drawing collaged so beautifully
with vintage laces and even
some eco dyed silk I had gifted
my friend sometime ago!

This is a most exquisite Bird and Butterfly mobile
and ithas been machine stitched together with cotton -
I have yet to share it hanging on our
antique dresser!

And there's no guessing why I received these
exquisite antique lace pieces
to be incorporated into
if I have the heart to use them!

Have you ever seen the likes of this piece of Silk
and crocheted cloth - well actually it is
a pillow sham and I think that the
covered pillow in a coloured cover
would have been passed between the two layers of
silk and lace!

It certainly is stunning and most unusual!
I have never seen work like this before
and it is completely hand croched
hand stitched together!

A few cabinet cards two of which have
the most exquisite borders in a puce/mushroom shade!

How special is this angel card?
- the extensive wings and gown - sheer elegance!!

I think I have been blessed by an angel to receive
all of this amazing beauty
would love to share it on
Simply Neutrals Tuesday
with Wen on her blog at AppleApricot!

I promise you that you'll be amazed at all the different topics,
forms of art, architecture, mixed media subjects, nature scenes, etc. over there!
So pop on over to have a peek!

Many thanks for visiting friends -
it is so kind when you do and especially when you leave
me a comment! It is always so appreciated!

Simply Neutrals Tuesday No. 33 - St Valentine's Day Love

Dear friends - Valentine's Day has come around for yet
another year and I could not think of anything

more appropriate to share with you
this week than my love of hearts
so here are just a few
I have created over just the last 3 years or so:

Naturally you all know how much I create with
antique, vintage and even new laces

so here are just a few of the many I have created:

Some of these have been created as gifts,

 giveaways and also

for sale in my Etsy shop

Heart Cards!

All of these heart shapes cannot help but evoke
a feeling of peace and love within us
and that is why I create so many of these beautiful

These beads and findings were part of my"Heart Strings"
of about 4 years ago now!

A perfect heart to display those
special vintage rhinestone pieces!

A heart to hold the memories of a special loved person
in your life so simply created!
So wherever and however you celebrate
Valentine's Day - may it be of
the most joyous love
to those special people in your lives!

She really is an angel!

Simply Neutrals Tuesday 31 - For the Love of Old

For the Love of Old
I'm sharing a few precious items I've collected
over the years which surround me
in my studio where I create!

There is always the mystery surrounding the stories behind
these old cabinet cards and the
collection of the antique
photo albums
so beautifully decorated and bound

but for me, personally, I am also very
attracted to the incredibly beautiful fabrics and laces
used in the dresses of these women and young girls

as well as the quality and detail which is so absent today!
Clothing was meant to last and you only owned
one special dress often which was worn
for special occasions!

Even the embroidery - so beautiful!

One can barely understand how they could
use such intricate pieces under glass
for an ash tray!!!!!

Even these little German porcelain dolls' under garments
were hand stitched so beautifully and neatly!
Lasting treasures!

You will, of course, always find a piece of beautiful old lace
in my studio because I don't have to tell you that that is
another addiction of mine!

Everything was so well made
including these beautiful locks with their
keyhole covers

it matters not that the
surface becomes damaged with time -
the rust is treasured even more!

Cash books and journals were used for every day purposes
and their leather covers last for centuries!

I'm linking this post to Simply Neutrals Tuesday today
and if you would like to visit more
wonderful neutrals go visit

Thank you Wen for hosting this for us once again and thanks
to all of you who visit and appreciate these loves of mine

Hugs, Suzy xox
